AugmenteDar
AugmenteDar is a collaboration between UK based agency The
Cultural Assembly and Sahara Sparks.
AugmenteDar offers a virtual and in person training programme
in augmented reality, design thinking, technology and artistic
collaboration. It brings together creatives and technologists to
establish Africa’s first immersive augmented reality trail in the
city to form a mobile app that transforms the streets of Dar es
Salaam into an immersive AR art and performance trail.
AugmenteDar goes beyond animating art on canvas, it
activates targeted buildings, monuments, billboards or any
landmark, then launches the viewer into an immersive dance,
spoken word or musical experience.
Imagine 3D animated dancers performing on a wall of a
building, a billboard image breaking apart to reveal a work of art
or listening to a statue telling their story.
Even the most uninspiring locations can trigger the
AugmenteDar App to launch new virtual worlds of works of art,
performance and culture seen through a smart phone screen.
